We have no winter snow!  We closed up for the season and flew back to Anchorage at the end of September, and the mountains had no new snow.  I have never seen that in over 40-years in Alaska.  We left the lodge to the bears and nature, and there were plenty on the home river, since million of Pink salmon had spawned and died, leaving an abundance of food for the Rainbow.....

     So many thanks to be given at the end of a great season, and I will have to start with our own incredible Royal Wolf staff.  We think we have the perfect team and without our great staff we would just be another lodge.&nb....

To those who remember Chloe, we are sad to say we lost her to cancer September 19th, not long after returning from another summer at the lodge.   
     Chloe arrived as a new puppy to Royal Wolf Lodge almost 13 years ago; lodge life was her familiar and welcoming summer home. ....

 I am very happy to report Royal Wolf Lodge and Sienna Ridge Estate wine week was an enormous success.  Our couples week, led by the owners of Sienna Ridge Estate, Wayne Hitchings and Glenda Dodson, provided one of the most joyful weeks in the twenty year history of Royal Wolf.  Starting each evening with excellent Champagne led to bubbly conversations depicting the days....

It has taken a long time to bring a new blog forth, but the opening of two lodges and all that entails has kept us pretty busy.  When the days start getting longer in Anchorage I know it is time to begin the mad rush.  Spring came 3 weeks early this year and when Chris flew down to the lodge early this spring to check the ice for bringing in fuel, found he couldn’t even l....

Our second year into the African safari business has come to an end, but only until December when we once again will be taking small groups to the East Africa we love.  I think each year gets better and after spending close to two months in Kenya and Tanzania, we are definitely learning about the best places to go.

We left Alaska on Christmas day, which turned out to be a great....
