We had the warmest temperatures ever recorded last year in Bristol Bay.  It was also the driest winter and spring with the least amount of snow on record.  In April and May temperatures reached into the 60 and 70-degree levels for a long period of time.  The lake ice at the lodge didn’t melt until early April and the land was totally void of snow.  These warm ....

Today is the winter solstice where Alaskans have 9 hours and 32 minutes of daylight and 14 hours and 28 minutes of nighttime.  We like our winter solstice’s in Alaska, it means the sun will start working on some serious warmth and summer can’t be far away.  My favorite month is March, by then you are starting to feel some real warm from the sun.  We have had our shar....
